SUMMARY:ONLINE-SOCIAL MEDIA ETIQUETTE
DESCRIPTION:Members $60/ Non Members $85 \npresented by Hilary JM Topper \nHave you ever posted on social media and then gone back 5 minutes later and deleted it because you’re worried someone might take it the wrong way? \nAre you surprised to learn that some hiring companies will look at your personal social media accounts before offering you a job? \nIf your job is a huge part of your life and your life is painstakingly documented on social media\, is it just a matter of time before you say something on your personal page that will affect you professionally? \nCOVID blurred the lines between personal and professional. Our homes have become offices\, and we use social media to keep tabs on both our personal and business relationships. And even if we think we know about social media etiquette\, the line between what is appropriate and inappropriate to post isn’t as clear-cut as it was a few years ago. This training session will focus on the dos and the don’ts of today’s social networking. What should you post? What shouldn’t you post? How does it impact the organization when you post something that is controversial on your own page? \nThis training can also assist HR professionals in crafting company policies by identifying potential issues around social media use. \nHilary JM Topper\, MPA is the CEO of HJMT Public Relations Inc. She is the author of three books including Branding in a Digital World. Hilary is an avid blogger who has two blogs – HilaryTopper.com\, the NY Lifestyle Blog\, and ATriathletesDiary.com blog. She is also a podcaster with Hilary Topper on Air. In her free time\, she trains for triathlons and is a USA Triathlon coach\, RRCA Running Coach\, and USMS Swim Coach.

SUMMARY:ONLINE-Weather Effects on People With Disabilities--A Caution
DESCRIPTION:Members $60/Non Members $85\nPresented by Margaret J. Gould-The Visions Center for Creative Management\n\nHave you noticed the weather has been crazy recently?  One day it’s 20 degrees and the next it’s in the mid-50s.  Did this summer feel hotter?  It was the warmest on record for NYC.  Do you remember flooding like we’ve seen recently in NYC before?\n\nSignificant weather events have an incredible impact on people with disabilities.  People with disabilities are 4x more likely to die or be injured in climate emergencies.\n\nThis webinar will highlight why it is important to be aware of how we are supporting people with disabilities in the community.  As programs become less center-based and more independent\, we need to ensure that safety measures are in place\, many of which will be different from what we are currently doing.   Face it\, we don’t just run group homes anymore!  And\, in making these changes\, we have to look at our structure and infrastructure differently.\n\nThis webinar is for executives and anyone who manages programs\, safety directors\, administrators\, and policy staff.  The materials presented will be informative and helpful in considering what your organization must and should do going forward.

SUMMARY:ONLINE-POWER HOUR: What is a Loss Ratio\, and Why Should I Care?
DESCRIPTION:Members $40/ Non Members $55 \nYour insurance Loss Ratio is a significant variable that you control\, which an Underwriter uses to determine what premium you are going to pay. Each of your insurance policies (i.e.\, Work Comp\, Auto\, Liability\, Property\, D&O\, Cyber\, Health) have separate loss ratios. Some Underwriters combine the loss ratios of all policies\, while most measure each loss ratio separately. There are other important rating factors as well\, such as reinsurance pricing\, but you do not control them. \nThis session will define loss ratio as well as explain the percentage ratio you want to strive for and why it is important to know your loss ratio well ahead of your renewal.. \nLastly\, this session will show you a straightforward way to track your Loss Ratio (in advance) using Bradley & Parker’s unique “Loss History Spreadsheets.” Anyone who attends this Power Hour will receive a copy of the “Loss History Spreadsheet\,” along with up to 3 hours complimentary risk management assistance from Bradley & Parker\, so you can create and track your own loss ratios. \nPresented by Steve Fuoco\, Senior Vice President- Bradley & Parker \nSteve began his insurance career in 1982 and joined Bradley & Parker in 2008. SUMMARY:POSTPONED! IN PERSON- Picking the Battles
DESCRIPTION:THIS TRAINING WILL BE RESCHEDULED \nIN PERSON AT IAC \nMembers $140/Non Members $170\nDon’t sweat the small stuff and a lot of what happens is small stuff. Managers are advocates for the people we support and the program itself. Some battles you need to “go to the mattresses” and others you need to let go. This class will help you determine where you need to put your resources. What battles you can let go of\, what battles you need to pick up\, and where you need to find alternate approaches. As a manager we cannot solve every problem nor can we be everything to everyone. However\, we can create tools to help manage best case scenarios.

If you can make the job of a DSP more fun and interesting you will retain staff longer\, create a better environment\, and you won’t dread going into work yourself. This class is to help find the fun in what we do rather than the ugh!
