Chris is the Associate Executive Director for Children’s Services for the InterAgency Council for Developmental Disability Agencies where he is responsible for Early Intervention, Preschool and School-Age Services.
Prior to his position with IAC, Chris worked for AHRC New York City for almost twenty-two years. During that time, he worked as a school social worker at the Brooklyn Blue Feather Early Learning Center for five years and as the Director of Advocacy Services for seventeen years.
As Director of Advocacy Services, Chris assisted families helping them negotiate the service delivery system of the NYC DOE. This included providing technical assistance as well as accompanying families to CPSE/CSE Meetings and Impartial Hearings. And he conducted training for over 500 parents and professionals each year.
Chris served as a member of the New York City Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council from July 2012 until June 2014. He was appointed Chair of the Council in June 2014 and served as Chair until June 2016. Chris served as a member of the NYC Commissioner’s Health and Mental Hygiene Advisory Council from 2014 - 2017. In July of 2017, Chris was appointed to the New York State Board of Regents Blue Ribbon Committee on Early Learning.
Chris is a certified social worker and has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work where he majored in Community Organizing and Planning.
