Trauma Sensitive Classroom Training

Trauma Sensitive Classroom Training

The NYC Department of Education (NYCDOE) is committed to creating inclusive preschool classrooms that enable all children to enter kindergarten with a solid foundation for future success. To support this work, a professional learning series will be offered to preschool programs during school year 2017-2018.  The goal of the series is to provide participants with information and resources on preschool special education and to build the capacity of programs to support children and families.

This topic, “Trauma Sensitive Classroom”, will focus on understanding the impact of trauma and viewing children's behaviors through a trauma-sensitive lens to promote resilience.
