A discussion at the Regents Meeting about Special Education held Monday, March 11, 2019, might have been the longest discussion ever at a Regents Meeting.

Many of the Regents were very concerned and surprised by the fact that that New York State has been in need of assistance for more than ten (10) consecutive years.

And New York City has been in need for thirteen (13) years!

A chart full of red X’s clearly showed that New York State has failed to be in compliance with the majority of established Federal Indicators.

We should utilize this data in our advocacy efforts with our elected officials.  

We can not provide better educational outcomes for our children without certified special education teachers.
