DESCRIPTION:Accepting Proposals for 2024 Family Connect Summit!ADAPT Community Network is thrilled to announce our 2024 Family Connect Summit to be held Wednesday\, October 16th\, 2024. The Summit will be virtual with speakers presenting in real time using the Zoom platform. Presentations will be 45 minutes with an additional 10 minutes for Q&A. We are requesting proposals from knowledgeable speakers who are experts in their fields to participate. To guide you on what we are looking for\, please visit the following link for the 2023 Family Connect Summit\, which was quite successful with over 1000 people registered: https://adaptcommunitynetwork.org/summit2023.Topics should address programs\, services\, policies\, or strategies that enhance the lives of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. Some suggestions for topics are: government benefits\, housing supports\, resources for children with ASD\, and sexual health.We hope that you would like to be a part of this exciting event. Please include the following session information in your proposal:Use the template below to help design and develop a 55-minute session consisting of a 45-minute presentation and 10-minute Q&A based on the theme of “Creating the Future.”: \n\nWorkshop Title: Suggest a concise\, attention getting title for your workshop.\nWorkshop Description: Write a short description of your workshop for the event website no more than 150 words in length that includes your workshop’s main goal.\nSkills/Knowledge: List at least three skills\, knowledge\, and attitudes that will be addressed in this workshop.\nParticipant Outcomes: By the end of this session\, participants will be able to … (e.g.\, what are 2-5 concrete\, measurable things you want participants to walk away with? What are the skills and content areas you will cover?)•  List of objectives (1-3)\nFacilitator(s): Include contact information including\, name(s)\, academic degree(s)\, title(s)\, affiliations\, mailing address\, phone number\, email address.\n\n\nKey points of note: \n\nWorkshops will be recorded and shared with the public via ADAPT Community Network’s social media platforms and website.\nThe Family Connect Summit is a free event for all therefore no honorarium is offered for services.\n\n\nPlease submit the completed workshop proposal as a single PDF document to familysummit@adaptcommunitynetwork.org by Friday\, March 15th\, 2024.
