SUMMARY:ONLINE-The Right to Relationships and Sexuality – A DSP Guide to Foster Appropriate Discussion
DESCRIPTION:July 10th 10am-12pm\n \nPresented by Hopper Trainings LLC\n \nOnline via zoom\n \nMembers $70 / Non Members $95\n\nDue to a lack of knowledge and opportunities\, individuals in the industry may have inadequate means of developing meaningful relationships outside of their core providers and support systems. This can make developing friendships difficult and dating an insurmountable feat. The need to love and be loved is every individual’s right\, but their pursuit can be hampered by a system that may not feel comfortable answering direct questions about love and relationships. With this session\, we will explore healthy conversations you can have with individuals\, whether they wish to discuss friendships\, relationships\, and/or dating. Avenues like physical intimacy will also be explored\, with options for staff who may be uncomfortable with discussing such topics.\n\nTarget Audience: DSPs and all staff that provide direct supports to individuals. NOTE – This course is not a guide on how to perform an individual consent evaluation and is not geared toward Behavior Specialists and/or Psychologists.\n\nTraining/Workshop Objectives:\no Offering Praise and Improving Self-Esteem\no Understanding Relationships\no Friendships\no Rejection/Loneliness\no Dating\no Preventing Abuse\no Understanding Sexuality\no Utilization of the PLISSIT Medical Model in our field\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n \nIAC Cancellation Policy: We are unable to refund Registrations for Single day classes canceled with less than 24 hours notice and Registrations for Multi-day classes canceled with less than 48 hours notice.  No- shows will be charged the full registration fee.
