A seizure results from a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain\, comes in many forms\, and can affect consciousness\, movement\, and behavior. Just over one percent of the general population has epilepsy\, but in the intellectually disabled population\, that incidence can rise to as high as forty percent. \nSeizures can happen anywhere and at any time. Knowing how to help someone during a seizure can make a difference and save a life.
