SUMMARY:ONLINE-Crisis Intervention for Administrators
DESCRIPTION:presented by Jason Hopper- Hopper Trainings LLC \nONLINE VIA ZOOM \nMembers $60/ Non Members $85 \nStaff who work in an administrative capacity at I/DD organizations may not work directly with individuals\, but they do encounter them on a regular basis. If that contact is combined with an unexpected challenging behavior\, the staff can be left feeling helpless and unprepared. This course was created to address this issue and stems from a real-life incident involving an individual and an administrative staff. The content will give administration the knowledge and verbal cues to utilize when faced with a similar situation and will ensure everyone’s safety.

SUMMARY:IN PERSON-ADDRESSING CONFLICTS IN THE WORKPLACE
DESCRIPTION:presented by Katherine Gould-The Visions Center for Creative Management \nJune 20th 10am-4pm \nMembers $140/Non Members $190 \n  \nStress! Stress! Stress! Is the new Marsha\, Marsha\, Marsha. Stress is causing tension to build because programs are often short staffed and personnel have different expectations regarding their responsibilities. The result is that conflict arises on multiple levels. Managers must address conflict quickly and in a positive manner. This training offers strategies to help manage conflict and build a team approach to solving disagreements. It will focus on how to create open and honest communication. We will also discuss how to manage severe conflicts that arise which may have long term damage on the program if not handled properly.

SUMMARY:IN PERSON- THE IMPORTANCE OF "WHY"
DESCRIPTION:presented by Katherine Gould-The Visions Center for Creative Management \nJuly 18th 10am-4pm \nMembers $140/Non Members $190 \n  \nPeople are motivated by knowing “why” something is important. It helps in making decisions and creates urgency in completing a task. In our field\, why we do what we do is important. It is the organization’s overall mission. But the mission must be translated to staff in a way that helps inspire and motivate. Knowing the why keeps people motivated. It also helps promote retention. This training will focus on how to help staff understand the “why” in what we do. We will discuss current techniques that managers can incorporate in training and developing staff and in motivating performance focused on quality results. Asking “why” today is more important than it ever has been. \n  \nCancellation Policy: Registrations for Single day classes canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded.  Registrations for Multi-day classes canceled with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded.  No shows will be charged the full registration fee.
