On September 17th, families and self-advocates took to the streets in their cars to travel to Albany to protest cuts to funding for services to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilties.  The date of 9/17/2020 was significant since it represented the 33rd anniversary of the closing of Willowbrook by the current Governor's father, Mario Cuomo.  One of the messages seen on the windows of many cars was 'Don't send us back to Willowbrook'.  See photos on the slideshow below.
