Understanding Developmental Disabilities
Date: March 1, 2024, 12PM Learn to recognize old ways of thinking and challenge common stereotypes. Gain understanding about the lives of people with disabilities from the Americans with Disabilities Act to present.
Why Is My Child Not Talking Yet?
Date: March 5, 2024, 7PM Learn strategies for families to incorporate speech and language activities into everyday routines and interactions at home, fostering language development in naturalistic settings. This workshop will empower parents, caregivers, and professionals to better support children in reaching their communication goals.
Navigating the System – Services Available for People with Special Needs
Date: March 18, 2024, 2PM Receive guidance on navigating the complex systems of services and supports for individuals with special needs, including accessing assessments and evaluations, navigating service eligibility criteria, and advocating for needed services including healthcare, education, social and community supports, and transition services.
Understanding My Child’s Challenging Behavior
Date: March 22, 2024, 10AM This workshop is designed to empower participants to effectively manage challenging behaviors in children with developmental disabilities and create a positive and supportive environment for their growth and development.
Food Glorious Food
Date: March 28, 2024, 10AM ThisWorkshop provides participants with the tools needed to identify, understand, and accommodate the often unusual or limited involvement children with Developmental Disabilities and Autism have with food and eating.
