ADAPT FREE WEBINAR: The Changing Landscape of Autism

DESCRIPTION: The talk will go over the changing definition and demographic profile of Autism over time. We will discuss the medical vs societal models of disability, the rise of the Neurodiversity movement, and the resultant naming of Profound Autism. Strategies for capturing the diverse needs of the ASD population in advocacy efforts and understanding current controversies arising from these diverse needs (ie ABA, genetic testing, identity first language) will also be addressed.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Parents, family members, caregivers and professionals who want to enhance the lives of children, teenagers & young adults. We welcome anyone who strives to achieve the same goals.
