ONLINE Informed Decision Making

May 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$70 – $95
Date: May 9th 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Members $70 / Non members $95
In this webinar we will go in-depth about how to help an individual live an independent lifestyle when faced with the challenges of having lived a life directed solely by parents/guardians. The following topics will be discussed:
• Learned helplessness and other mental barriers that prevent individuals from realizing their full potential.
• Scenarios where individuals have to make a choice regarding a difficult decision and how staff need to construct all of the outcomes (pros and cons) before choosing the best outcome for themselves.
• The Dignity of Risk – Every decision we each make has an element of risk. Unless there is imminent harm, an individual has the right to make a decision and take a risk, even if that decision can lead to a negative outcome. We all learn from mistakes, and individuals should have the right to learn as well.
• Video clips and activities are included in the webinar to enhance learning.
Cancellation Policy: Registrations for Single day classes canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded.  Registrations for Multi-day classes canceled with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded.  No shows will be charged the full registration fee.
